Ray Glisson, 81, of McKenzie, Tennessee, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at his residence.
He worked for many years in construction as a carpenter and mason. Ray installed over 100 concrete basements in West and Middle Tennessee. He loved to study and read. He enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar, singing, and playing golf.
Ray was born Saturday, January 11, 1941, in Henry, Tennessee, to the late Edgar Lee Glisson and the late Dolly Violet Owens Glisson.
He was married Friday, May 6, 1977, to Judy Gail Flippin Glisson, who survives, of McKenzie, Tennessee. Ray Glisson, 81, of McKenzie, Tennessee, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at his residence.
Along with his wife, three children also survive him: Jessica Lee (Barry) Mathis, of Paris, Joseph A. (Christina) Glisson, of Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi, and Corey A. (Krystal) Glisson, of McKenzie, Tennessee; two sisters: Margaret Marie Nash, of Indiana, and Joyce Ann Harrison, of Paris; seven grandchildren: Joseph (Rachel) Glisson, Jr., Jason Glisson, Sara Mathis, Ella Mathis, Cael Mathis, Belle Glisson, and Jana Glisson; and three great-grandchildren: Grace Glisson, Lydia Glisson, and Erika Glisson.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons: Charles Thomas Glisson and Jason Dean Glisson, both in infancy; two sisters: Mary Alene Sensing and Helen Marceal Traywick; and two brothers: Lyndol Harold Glisson and Jarrell Dennis Glisson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242. The body is to be cremated. Memorial visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the memorial service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Barry Mathis officiating.
