Marshall County, Ky.–Duck hunters stranded on a small island on Kentucky Lake were rescued earlier today by the Marshall County Rescue Squad.
The Rescue Squad was paged out to provide assistance to duck hunters who had lost power on their boat and were stranded on a small island.
Rescue Squad officials said, “As you can imagine this mission had to be swift and efficient due to single digit temps and negative wind chill. All rescue squad members and hunters are back to shore safely. Thank you to all agencies that assisted with this rescue.”
The Rescue Squad strongly discourages anyone from being on the water during this weather. “If we had been unable to reach the stranded individuals the outcome could have been deadly,” they said.
