The City of Hazel reports a water main leak that is creating a potential traffic issue along U.S. 641 through town.
The Hazel Water District says a water main leak in the 200 Block of Main Street in Hazel has caused water to accumulate and freeze along U.S. 641.
The crew on site indicates repairs can be made without disrupting traffic on U.S. 641. However, there is water along the roadway that is creating icy conditions. The KYTC Calloway County Highway Maintenance Crew will be spreading additional salt in this area from time to time during the day to help minimize ice accumulation.
The Hazel Water District crew is optimistic the water main can be repaired today with out a lane restriction.
Motorists traveling U.S. 641/Main Street in Hazel are asked to use appropriate caution as the water crew is working in close proximity to traffic flow.
