UCES “Voices” Spread Holiday Cheer

By Mike Hutchens, UC Schools Communications Director

Union City, Tenn.–The ‘Voices’ of Union City Elementary School continue to spread holiday cheer during this Christmas season.

The singing group – made up of around 35 UCES third-and-fourth-graders who tried out for the group in the fall – recently entertained Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City employees and staff with several Christmas-themed tunes in the Tower Conference Room.

BMH-UC Chaplain Michael Dennison coordinated the event with Union City Elementary School music teacher Katie Tohn, who has showcased her group at several venues in and about town in recent weeks.

Voices members have also performed at several nursing homes, the Union City Rotary Club, Chimes for Charity, the Board of Education, and the annual Christmas tree lighting at the Obion County Courthouse during this holiday season.

Each student received a special bag of treats at the conclusion of their hospital performance.

Tohn and the Pre-K classes at UCES will present that group’s Christmas music program this evening, with the Kindergarten holiday program set for Wednesday at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.
