Paris, Tenn.–Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the rain that is forecast for Saturday will hold off until after the Downtown Paris Christmas festivities are over.
Rain or shine, the Downtown Christmas Festival and Holly Jolly Electric Christmas Parade will go on.
But there will be one change, according to Kasey Muench of the Downtown Paris Association: The Crafts with the Arts Council will be moved to the covered parking lot behind First Bank, as will The Grinch and DJ Good News.
The Christmas Festival starts at 1:30 p.m. and will include food trucks, shopping, lots of kids’ activities, DJ Good News playing music and coffee for shoppers. The Festival of Trees will be open at the Downtown Paris 5 & 10 Event Center from noon to 5 p.m. and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in their house on the court square beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The parade begins at 5 p.m. with a new parade route. The new route begins at First United Methodist Church on the corner of North Poplar and East Blythe Streets. Goes down Poplar on the east side of the square and
turns right on Ruff Street at the First Baptist Church. It then turns right again on Brewer Street
until returning to the East Blythe. We posted a graphic of the new route earlier this week.
