Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed another K-9 and he was obtained at no cost to the department.

Rico is a two-year-old Dutch Shephard, who is a multi-purpose K9. Sheriff Frankie Gray said he has “a great temperment but goes into work mode on command”. Rico’s handler is Deputy Casey Wilburn.

K9s usually cost the sheriff’s office over $10,000, but Rico was obtained at no cost through Sgt. McDonald and Henry County Sheriff’s K9 trainer Sgt. Ricky Wade. Rico’s kennel was also obtained for free.

With the addition of Rico, the Stewart County Sheriff’s Office will be able to provide practically 24-hour coverage by K9s.
