Paris, Tenn.–Bringing the books to the kids.

A new Literacy Van, full of books and literacy items to encourage and build reading, writing and vocabulary skills will soon be visiting Henry County communities and events.

The Family Resource Center has purchased a van using Elementary Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER 2.0) funds and they have partnered with the W.G. Rhea Library.

Family Resource Center Director Becky Holland thanked Abbott’s Print Shop for the beautiful van wrap.

The van will be on hand at community and school events and also will be visiting communities in the county. Books will be read to the kids, afterwhich crafts will be done and there will be bean bags set up in the van for kids to read. Books also will be given away to kids during the visits.

Holland said, “We look forward to visiting community events throughout the year and visiting neighborhoods this summer!”
