Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Sheriff’s Office will begin accepting deer for its “Deputies for the Hungry “ program on November 19th. The program will continue through December 30th,2022.

Sheriff Josh Frey said deer may be dropped off at the Henry County Sheriff’s Office between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm daily.

They will be closed on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

“Hunters will need to have the deer checked in prior to arrival and have the confirmation number ready for deer shed personnel. All deer must be field dressed prior to drop off,” he said.

The Henry County Sheriffs Office will have a give away at the conclusion of the season and after they’ve received all testing results. The Sheriffs Office will make the public aware of when the give away will be.

Due to limited storage capacity and CWD testing procedures, the Henry  County Sheriffs Office may have to suspend the program. The Henry County Sheriffs Office will make a public notification should that occur. For each deer donated the hunter will receive a ticket for a drawing to be held at Hulmes Sporting Goods. This drawing will be for a PSE crossbow.
