Union City, Tenn.–Union City already knew whom and when.
Now the Golden Tornadoes and their fans know where.
UC will face Freedom Prep at Arthur Halle Stadium in Memphis Friday night in Round 1 of the Class 2A state playoffs. The physical address for Halle Stadium is 2602 Mt. Moriah Road.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Advance tickets will be sold via the GoFan digital ticket platform (https://gofan.co/tssaa) for $8 each. Tickets will also be available at the gate for $10.
Both teams will enter the contest with 8-2 records – the Twisters having finished third in Region 7 and the War Eagles placing second in Region 8.
Union City will be making its 31st all-time appearance in the playoffs and has qualified in each of the last 18 seasons. The Tornadoes own four state titles (2009, 2013, 2014 and 2017) and finished as runners-up in 1997, 2000 and 2005.
UC’s all-time playoff record is 52-26.
Freedom Prep opened its doors in 2013 and has made the postseason for just the fourth time.
The War Eagles are 2-3 in their previous appearances, having won both games during the 2018 season.
FP lost to Westview 42-6 in Round 1 last season.
The winner of the UC-FP contest will play either Westview or KIPP of Memphis in Round 2.
