Paris, Tenn.–Little Ian Anderson was enjoying his moment as a junior firefighter Tuesday during the W.G. Rhea Library’s Children’s Storyhour field trip to the Paris Fire Department. Firefighter Devin Veazey was showing the kids how to spray the fire hose, while Children’s Librarian Kayla Nation and parents look on. The kids toured the Fire Department and Veazey and Firefighter Tucker Kail reviewed the importance of fire alarms, knowing how to drop and roll and having a fire plan. The kids also got to sit in the department’s biggest fire truck. There were a lot of high fives and the kids got fire hats and other goodies to take home with them. This week is Fire Safety Week.
