Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Helping Hand is gearing up for an in-person radio auction in 2023. The annual fundraising event to benefit over 80 local nonprofit charitable groups will begin on January 9th and run through March 1st at the Paris Convention Center.

“After two years of non-traditional auctions due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are very excited to allow people to return inside and bring, bid, and pick up items. Helping Hand will continue to post online photos of donated items for each day’s auction,” according to Helping Hand Treasurer Susan Bell.

“We are planning four night auctions: Educators Day on January 21st, Henry County Medical Center Day on February 4th, First United Methodist Church Day on February 11th, and First Baptist Church Day on February 18th. Make plans to volunteer, donate money, provide items, and bid high and bid often,” she said.

The Lakeway Kiwanis Club will donate proceeds from its 21st Annual Mexican Dinner on October 20th to Henry County Helping Hand in memory of Fred McLean, a former Paris attorney who died earlier this year.

“Fred was a vital Helping Hand volunteer for over three decades serving as a president, board member, and popular auctioneer. He played a key role in Kiwanis, including the local club’s Mexican Dinner fund raiser,” according to Bruce Reed, current Helping Hand president.

Applications for organizations to receive funds will be available beginning October 17th at McLean & McLean Law Office at 206 West Wood Street, Paris, TN 38242. The deadline to return completed applications will be on November 11th at 5:00 p.m.
