Springfield, Tenn.–Players from both the Henry County Patriots and Springfield’s team gathered in prayer after Friday night’s hard-fought game in what has become a tradition for the two teams. The game went into overtime, with the final score Henry County 29 and Springfield 28.
Additionally, the Henry County Patriots won the Tennessee Titans Game of the Week and Head Coach James Counce Jr. is Titans Coach of the Week. That means that Patriot football will receive a $1,500 grant from the Titans and Coach Counce will be recognized at a Titans game in December.
Announcer Jon Davidson said, “The atmosphere at the game was incredible and it was a great venue. Springfield is a really good team and both teams have a great deal of respect for each other. No losers here tonight when you enjoy victory and/or suffer defeat with class and character. Incredible game tonight in Springfield.”
