Union City, Tenn.–It was indeed a “grand” few days at Union City Elementary School last week.

Smiles, waves and hugs were abundant as UCES hosted the widely popular ‘Grandparents Day’ for students in all grades and Tiny Tornado Academy Wednesday through Friday.

The school courtyard was decorated with a fall theme, and multiple photo-taking opportunities were available for the distinguished visitors. Students performed songs by grades – much to the delight of adoring grandparents – before enjoying a light snack of lemonade and cookies served by teachers.

“A great time was had by all,” a smiling UC Elementary School Principal Allison Palmer said after the completion of the festivities. “It is amazing to see our students interact with special members of their families. The smiles of everyone here were contagious.

“We are blessed in so many ways at Union City Schools.”
