UC In Good Effort Versus Westview

Union City, Tenn.–Union City put up a good fight in the first two games before falling to Westview 3-0 in high school volleyball Wednesday.

The contest was a make-up match postponed from Aug. 30 due to sickness within the Lady Charger program.

UC had some good moments in the first two games Wednesday before falling 25-17 and 25-16. Martin took Game 3, 25-7.

Brianna McBride led the Lady Tornadoes (3-6) with 10 winners, followed by Gracelyn Sims with eight. Sadie Crawford finished with seven winners, and Addison Carr and Emma Powell were credited with five.

Union City also gave a good effort in the jayvee game before dropping two games, 25-20 and 26-24.

Brittany Murphy had seven kills to pace the Twister girls. Debrionna Jones finished with four kills, Mattie Smith had three and M’Kaylie Ingram finished with two.

UC will play its third match in as many days when it travels to West Carroll this afternoon.
