
Paris, Tenn.–The victim of Sunday’s fatal crash in Paris has been identified.
Al Billings, age 85, of Puryear, apparently suffered a medical emergency before the collision around 2:25 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to the Paris Police report, Billings was northbound on Tyson Ave. when he collided with the brick wall at the T-intersection with East Wood Street. Billings was deceased when officers arrived and he was transported to Henry County Medical Center by ambulance. He was driving a 2001 Ford XPL.
Mr. Billings retired after many years in the construction business where he worked as a lead carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union in Chicago, IL. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War conflict.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, September 8, with military honors at 6 p.m.
