Union City, Tenn.–Tennessee Young Farmers of the Year Derek and Micayla Giffin were handed the keys to their new Case IH Tractor at a presentation at the Obion County Fair Thursday.
The Tennessee Farm Bureau first announced that the Giffins had been named to the top prize in July. The Giffins were named this year’s winners based on farm and financial records from 2021 as well as their leadership on the farm, in their community and in Farm Bureau.
Farm Bureau officials said, “This young farming family deserves this award in so many ways – they work throughout the year, growing food, raising cattle, supporting their community through civic engagement, and donating back to the community through their resources, time and knowledge.”
The Giffins also stopped by Discovery Park of America for a presentation there.
