Christopher Daniel Derr, 57, of Paris, Tennessee, passed peacefully Friday, August 19, 2022, at his residence.
Born Sunday, September 13, 1964, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Jack and Janis Derr, who preceded him in death.
Chris was a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he met his lifelong friend Rick Schulz. He was in the brick industry for over 25 years before his retirement in 2016 from Belden Brick. Chris was a devoted Catholic who prayed the rosary daily. He was an avid Ohio sports fan and rarely missed an opportunity to talk about the latest games with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years: Kelly Rogers Derr, of Paris, Tennessee, and his two children: Amber Lynn Derr and Brandon Christopher (Katey) Derr; three siblings: Nancy “Sister Celeste” Derr, David (Debi) Derr and Rich (Elizabeth) Derr; a niece: Jessica Derr; and two nephews: Jason (Amy) Derr, and John Joseph Derr.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, Tennessee.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Chris and Kelly’s home in Paris. Friends and family are asked to gather from 1 until 4 p.m. with a time of sharing to begin at 3 p.m.
To honor Chris’ love for dogs, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Paris Veterinary Clinic’s Angel Fund 2101 Eastwood St., Paris Tennessee, 38242.
