
James C. “Jim” Pennington, 85, of Paris, Tennessee, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at his residence.
Jim was born Sunday, September 13, 1936, in Paris, Tennessee, to the late William Curtis Pennington and the late Mae Killebrew Pennington. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister: Regina Smith; and one brother: Tommy Pennington.
He retired after 36 years with the US Postal Service where he served as a letter carrier. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Jim enjoyed his cattle, fishing, hunting, traveling, and loved his dogs. He was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church in Paris.
He was married Thursday, June 29, 1950, to Wanda Hopkins Pennington, who survives, of Paris.
Along with his wife, he is also survived by three sons: Steve (Donna) Pennington, Larry (Angie) Pennington, and Barry Pennington, all of Paris; two grandchildren: Stephanie (Austin) Hawkins, and Rob Pennington; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242. Visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2022, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, at 3:30 pm at Walker Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee, with Ben Whitmire officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Pennington, Larry Pennington, Barry Pennington, Rob Pennington, Austin Hawkins, and Bill Pennington.
Burial will follow the graveside service in Walker Cemetery.
