Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Fair will be chock full of activities and events for all ages and will be a mix of old and new in keeping with its 2022 theme of “Let’s Celebrate Past Present Future”.
This year’s Fair will include a Grand Opening Ceremony which will include patriotic music, proclamations and free hot dogs. Another new activity is the Ultimate Bull Fighting event sponsored by Nance Productions, the Fair and the Paris-Henry County Chamber.
Last year’s popular ‘Come Cook at the Fair’ will return with Chef Andy from the Family Table, Lyndia Freyburger and youth cooking teams.
Live music from local musicians will be a highlight throughout the week, with Wednesday celebrating the Paris-Henry County Bicentennial. The event will feature Henry County’s past with events spotlighting the county’s communities, music heritage, story-telling, beard contest, wagon rides, and a time capsule burying ceremony.
As always, Thursday will be a big day with the Woolies Revue and Junior Livestock Sale capping off the evening. Farm families will be honored each day, the annual Pet Show will be held Tuesday night with our own Lance Pierce as the emcee, Belle City Amusements will have their carnival and kids activities will be held all week.
Paris’ own Riley Jenkins will bring his Elvis tribute show to the fair, and the USA Pullers Tractor Pull and Demolition Derby will cap off weekend activities. And, oh–there’s a mullet contest in the intermission of the Saturday night Demolition Derby.
Free parking and gate admission every day.
The action begins Friday, August 19 with a BBQ Cook-off and Moovin It Dance with Rockin’ Randall French. The teams will be cooking their BBQ all day for the competitions to begin around 7 p.m. Rockin’ Randall starts at 7 p.m. and Strut your Boots at the pavilion at 8.
Saturday, August 20 events include the Hoofin It 5K run at 8 a.m., followed by the Dairy Show, more BBQ cooking competitions through the morning and the Ultimate Bull Fighting at 6:45 p.m.
