UC Schools Gearing Up For First Day Of School

uc-registration-2022-1

By Mike Hutchens, UC Schools Communications Director

Union City, Tenn.–A steady stream of students made their way through the buildings of all three Union City Schools’ campuses Thursday.

Administration reported “smooth sailing” as students – and in many cases, their parents – visited their classrooms, met new teachers and learned their “way around the building.”

The first day of classes for UC Schools students is Monday.

UCES – due to safety concerns – has altered its dismissal times and procedures.

Beginning Monday, no one will be allowed to park on campus or in the car line until 2:05. Violation of this new regulation will result in the SRO or an administrator asking the person to leave.

Parents will still be allowed to park in front of the building throughout the day to take care of school business, attend meetings, or check in/out their children.

Dismissal times will be as follows:

Pre-K – 2:25

  • Students will be picked up in the bus circle.
  • Parents may line up at 2:05.
  • School-issued car tags should be visible to speed along the pickup process.

K-4 – 2:45

  • All students in grades K-4 will dismiss at 2:45.
  • Parents may line up at 2:05.
  • School-issued car tags should be visible to speed along the pickup process.

UC Middle School will begin classes each day at 7:55 a.m., with dismissal at 3 o’clock.

UCHS’ daily classes will start each morning at 7:40, with dismissal at 2:45.
