Winnie Elva Moore

Winnie Elva Moore, 94, of Paris, Tennessee, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at AHC of Paris.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and had been active in some garden clubs before moving to Paris.  Winnie was a very sweet and kind Christian lady to all people and she also had a good sense of humor.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and their families.  She always had chocolate chip cookies and several different pies ready when any of them came to visit.

She was married Thursday, June 20, 1946, to George Thomas Moore, who preceded her in death  Thursday, April 17, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by son-in-law: Don Enss; two sisters: Ruth Harris and Evelyn McCord; and one brother: John F. Lewis.

She is survived by two daughters: Cathy Enss of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Dana (Chip) Peyton, of Haymarket, Virginia; one son: Wayne Moore, of Cookeville, Tennessee; one sister: Lavenia Overcast, of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and caregivers: Nicky Harris, Brenda Glisson, and Patty Brown.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Terry Fuller officiating.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee.
