Obion County, Tenn.–Active shooter training is ongoing this week at Obion County Schools as the first day of school approaches. Wednesday was the first day of training at Ridgemont and South Fulton. The other schools will be doing theirs as the week progresses. While this is such a difficult training to have to participate in mentally, district employees learn so much about how to respond. Obion County Schools Communications Director Lauren Kendall said, “While we hope we never need to use these skills, and we could never be truly prepared if it does, we are thankful to have such a dedicated group of SRO’s to walk us through what we CAN and should do if it were to ever occur.”
