Union City, Tenn.–On Thursday, July 14, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City provided a refreshment and rest station for ultramarathon runners who are competing in the Last Annual Vol State road race. Included in the participants is Matthew Bird of Security Bank-Union City. His wife, Brittnie is a nurse anesthetist at the hospital.
There are 130 participants who left Dorena, Missouri, and will run 314 miles to Castle Rock, Georgia within ten days.
