Dover, Tenn.–The American Queen Steamboat is docked today in Dover while the 402 passengers tour the Stewart County area.

A Stewart County Chamber of Commerce official told RadioNWTN that the steamboat is on the way from Nashville to New Orleans and is docked on the Cumberland River at the boat ramp behind the Stewart County Courthouse.

She said the American Queen, American Jazz and other steamboats dock at Dover three times a week so that passengers can tour the Fort Donelson area, visit the W.D. Sykes Museum and go shopping.

She said the American Queen will be in Dover for the rest of the day and while the public cannot take tours on it, “a lot of people like to come and look at it and take photos.”

According to the American Queen website, it’s the largest steamboat ever built–at 418 feet.
