
Jessie Mae Smith Haynes, 88, of Paris, Tennessee, died Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Alive Hospice, Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born Sunday, February 11, 1934, in Henderson County, Tennessee, to William Albert Smith and Verlie Jane Quinn Smith, who both preceded her in death.
Mrs. Haynes was an ordained Christian minister. She was an avid gardener who loved watching things grow. Jessie was an excellent seamstress who made her children’s clothing growing up.
She married James “Garthel” Haynes Saturday, April 29, 1950. He preceded her in death Sunday, June 26, 2021.
Mrs. Hayes was also preceded in death by her son Wally Haynes and two great grandchildren: Aaron Renfroe and Alissa Renfroe.
She is survived by her brother: James William (Fay) Smith, Parsons, Tennessee, grandchildren: Chris Renfroe, Lee Ann Ellis, Brook Charlton, and John Charlton and great grandchildren: Graci Ellis, Cale Ellis, Malea Renfroe, Cadance Charlton and Callie Charlton.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022, at McEvoy Funeral Home with Eric Kelleher, of Bridge of Hope Church, officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Burial will be at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, in Parsons, Tennessee.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday until time of service.
