Puryear, Tenn.–A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of one man and seriously injured two others Thursday afternoon. The two who were injured were airlifted from the scene by Air Evac and Vanderbilt Lifeflight.
Both were extricated from the vehicle by first responders.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol this morning released the preliminary report on the fatal crash, which occurred around 1 p.m. Thursday on Hwy. 69N.
According to the report, the crash claimed the life of a passenger, Daniel Moore, age 65 of Pacific, Mo. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Driver of the car was Richard W. Gamble, age 61, also of Pacific, Mo., and the other passenger was William Gamble, age 69,, of Paris. Both of them were wearing their seat belts.
The report states that the 2002 GMC Sierra Gamble was driving exited the roadway and overturned.
Henry County Sheriff Josh Frey was on the scene and said the vehicle fell in the bottom of a 8-10 foot embankment.
The driver and passenger were extricated and both were airlifted from the scene by Air Evac and Vanderbilt Lifeflight helicopters.
First responders at the scene included the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, THP, Puryear Fire Department, Cottage Grove Fire Department, Henry County Rescue Squad, Henry County EMS, and the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office.
