Edwin McCarty, 80 of Paris, Tennessee, died Thursday, June 30, 2022, at AHC of Paris.

Edwin was born Friday, August 29, 1941, in Dalhart, TX, to the late Otto Ernest McCarty and the late Ola Iona Masten McCarty.

Edwin grew up and worked on a farm in the Oklahoma panhandle (Felt). After high school, he was a paint specialist in a body shop.  He enjoyed driving cars, motorcycles, and anything with wheels.  In his later years he moved to Tennessee and owned and operated a lawn and landscaping business.  He enjoyed sales and sold a variety of products throughout his lifetime.  He loved animals and rescued quite a few.  He was a faithful member of the church of Christ and was a Bible teacher and occasional preacher.

He was first married to Opal G. McCarty, who preceded him in death Thursday, June 21, 2001.  He later married Linda Lou Jacobs McCarty, who preceded him in death Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

He is survived by his brother: Gene McCarty, of The Colony, Texas; one niece: Laura (Delbert) White, of Livingston, Montana; one nephew: David McCarty, of Irving, Texas; and special friends, Rayburn and Rebecca Thomason, of Paris, Tennessee.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Huntingdon, Tennessee.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Twin Oaks Cemetery.
