Paris, Tenn.–The Havoc in Henry County fundraiser Saturday was an overwhelming success for the Downtown Paris Boxing Gym. Miranda Moon said, “We had a full house, just a great turnout”. At least 400 people were in attendance and every available seat in the Commercial Building at the Henry County Fairgrounds was taken, she said.

“We had boxers here from all over, including other states. We had people here from Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana,” she said.

A large part of the money raised at the fundraisers goes for travel expenses for the local team, she said, noting that their next big tournament is in Florida in August. “We have nine kids going to that one,” she said. “And we have four shows between now and that one”.

Coach Chris Mooney organized the event and Moon said the matches were amazing. “As always, we couldn’t do it without our Sponsors and volunteers . Family, friends, and old fighters that keep showing up for us! Thank you Henry County for supporting Paris Downtown Boxing.”

Saturday’s event was the first one to be held since the COVID pandemic shut things down locally.
