Paris, Tenn.–Cheeseburger at Breakers 2022 was an overwhelming success, with over $7,000 raised. There was a full house–with some 300 tickets sold–at The Breakers for the annual event, which is a fundraiser for the Henry County Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Awards were given to Ellen Neese Adams for Board Member of the Year, Nikki Klopfenstein as Child Protection Investigative Team (CPIT) Member of the Year and to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office as CPIT Agency of the year.

A surprise “Boss Bomb” Award was given to Director Carly Wheat in recognition of all the hard work she has performed this year in transitioning the center into a new office and keeping everything running smoothly.

A beach ball signed by local public officials and other people in attendance was auctioned off for $1,500.

Wheat said, “Henry County knows how to show up and support services that impact children affected by trauma. Our Center has had many changes this year, but they have all been a part of a greater plan! Seeing the support that this community gives is overwhelming love! Many thanks to all volunteers, attendees, donors, sponsors, staff, board members, and CPIT members for all of the hard work.”
