Paris, Tenn.–Crews worked until well past midnight overnight to set up the stage, bleachers and merchandise areas for tonight’s free concert by the Marshall Tucker Band in downtown Paris.
Tonight’s concert will kick off this weekend’s Tennessee River Jam, with opening acts 24 Seven at 6 p.m. and Johnny Mac at 7 p.m. The Marshall Tucker concert will be held at 8 p.m.
Tonight’s activities are set up on Poplar Street and Washington Street on the court square. The stage is set up in front of Commercial Bank & Trust on Poplar, with bleachers set up in the beer garden area on Washington St. and a merchandise area set up close to the Washington/Poplar Street intersection. The bleachers are new to this second-annual event (The Oak Ridge Boys performed a free concert to kick off last year’s Jam).
And what about the heat? Paris-Henry County Chamber CEO Travis McLeese said, “At this point, our crews are working around the close to make this thing happen and to try to avoid the heat as much as possible.”
