Dorris E. Allison

Dorris E. Allison, 96 of Paris, Tennessee, died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Charter Senior Living of Paris.

He retired after several years of work at Holley Carburetor and as a truckdriver.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.  Dorris was always helping others, often times filling in as “Daddy” to many people in life.  He loved rabbit hunting and being outside.  He enjoyed storytelling and hauling logs and grain.  Dorris was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Dorris was born Tuesday, November 10, 1925, in Paris, Tennessee, to the late John William Thomas “Willie” Allison and the late Dessie Melton.

He was first married to Pauline Frensley Allison, who preceded him in death.  He later married Louise Crouch Allison, who also preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, first wife, and second wife, he was also preceded in death by one sister: Willene Allison and one brother: William Joe “Billy” Allison.

He is survived by his special beloved niece: Jeanne (Dale) O’Daniel, of Puryear, Tennessee; close special cousin: Martha Crider, of Huntingdon, Tennessee; and several other nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St/PO Box 788, Paris, Tennessee, 38242.  A graveside service will be held Friday, June 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Cemetery in Paris, Tennessee, with Chad Kennedy officiating.

Family & friends will serve as pallbearers.

Burial will follow the graveside service in Memorial Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Avalon Hospice staff, and the entire staff at Charter Senior Living of Paris, especially Kim Hazelwood and Crystal Rushing, for their love and care for Dorris during this time.
