Paris, Tenn.–At a busy meeting Monday afternoon, the Henry County Election Commission continued making preparations for the August 4 state and federal primary and state and county general election.

Elections Admistrator DeLaina Green reported a total 21,154 registered voters in Henry County.

“This is the first election year that we have had no military personnel apply to vote absentee,” Green said. “We didn’t have any for May and we have none for August.”

Early voting for the August election is from July 15 through July 30. A satellite center has been added to the locations where early voting can occur: at the Henry County Election Commission offices and at the Paris TCAT school. The Election Commission office is at 215 Grove Blvd. and TCAT is located on Wilson St. across from Henry Co. High School.

With TCAT being a newly-designated satellite, Green said two tests will be conducted before early voting to ensure everything is operating as it should.

Early voting hours are:

Election Commission office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon (except for the last Saturday, July 30, which will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

TCAT: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with no Saturday hours.
