
Paris, Tenn.–A Springville man who was found guilty of aggravated assault in the beating of a local resort owner was sentenced to 10 years in jail, the maximum allowed, by Henry County Circuit Court Judge Donald Parish.
Timothy Michael Crabtree, age 39, was found guilty of aggravated assault at the conclusion of a one-day trial in the local court in April. He was found not guilty of attempted second-degree murder.
The incident happened in August of 2018 when Crabtree beat the owner of Country Junction in Springville. The owner was seriously injured.
Crabtree was arrested by Henry County Deputy Sgt. Blake Jenkins. According to the original arrest report, Crabtree went to the Country Junction store after hours. He was met at the door by the owner who told him they were closed. Crabtree then forced his way in the store and began to beat the owner causing serious bodily injuries.
At the sentencing, the owner of Country Junction provided a victim impact statement before the court on the beating and aftermath.
