Henry County Clerk Donna Craig has issued this information for motorists:
The Tennessee General Assembly has waived the state registration fee for Class A and Class B motor vehicles, for renewals occurring between July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023.
• It reduces a portion of state registration fees for certain Motor Vehicle Renewals expiring between July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023.
• Class A includes motorcycles and autocycles. The state fee is reduced by $16.75. Registrants are still responsible for the remainder of the LOCAL FEES.
• Class B includes passenger motor vehicles and motor homes. The state fee is reduced by $23.75. Registrants will still be responsible for the LOCAL FEES
• Registered commercial motor vehicles are not included.
In Henry County:
***Renewal fees for standard auto plates are normally $69.50 annually. When your renewal occurs during the specified time above, you will only be paying $45.75 to renew.
***Renewal fees for motorcycle plates are normally $62.50 annually, you will only be paying $45.75 to renew.
PLEASE KNOW THAT THIS WILL NOT START UNTIL JULY 1, 2022 AND WILL END JUNE 30, 2023.
****If you try to come into the office early to renew, we will still be required to collect full price for those renewals.****
