Paris, Tenn.–Thanks to a partnership with Tomorrow’s Hope and area churches, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office has been offering a Life Skills Class taught at the county jail and its first class has been graduated.
The class of seven–four men and three women–were honored at a graduation ceremony held at the courthouse. The first class consists of Jeremy Buie, Trey Wilkes, Ricco Patton, Marquice Tharpe, Kelly Devzlois, Stephanie Mitchell and Candace Smith.
Sheriff Josh Frey is proud of the program–and the first graduates, noting their hard work for the past several weeks. “I just want to say congratulations to all of them”, he said.
The classes started in February and have been meeting one a week and they include topics such as healthy habits, soft skills, finance, stress and anger management and parenting.
Speakers at the graduation included Tomorrow’s Hope Community Development Coordinator Missy Hamilton, Mentor Robert Horner and Tomorrow’s Hope Director Cheryl Conner, as well as graduate Jeremy Buie.
The ceremony was a special occasion, complete with graduation gowns for the class members.
