Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County 4-H horse judging team recently traveled to Triple P Arena in Decaturville to compete in the regional horse judging competition. There were 130 youth competing from across the western region.

Advisor Staci Foy said Henry County had a young team of first time competitors: Ava Myrick, Eva Myrick, Sophie Staggs, and Madilyn Bitner, all students at Harrelson; and Grayson Morgan, of Paris Elementary.

The team competed in the junior division for fourth and fifth graders. The top ten high scoring individuals were recognized, with Madilyn finishing 8th and Eva capturing the 5th high scoring spot. The team placed second in the contest, out of eleven teams. The competition featured classes of halter horses, ranch pleasure, hunter under saddle, and western horsemanship.

“Congratulations to this team of hard-working and enthusiastic 4-H members!,” Foy said.
