BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the third time this season, the University of Tennessee at Martin accounts for the Ohio Valley Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week as Addison Conley and Kayla Carrell earned that title this afternoon.

Conley/Carrell join teammates Karen Scanlon/Dylan Mott (March 29, April 5) as winners of the award in 2022 and also become just the third duo in Skyhawk history to garner the OVC’s top weekly honor.

The team of Conley/Carrell became the school’s single-season wins leader last week, moving past Haeleigh Paulino/Logan Wallick’s All-OVC campaign from last spring. Conley/Carrell went a perfect 5-0 out of the No. 4 position last week, moving their season record to a remarkable 17-1 with four regular season matches remaining.

To start the week, Conley/Carrell defeated the North Alabama team of Martha McLaurin and Katy Floyd by a 21-15, 21-19 tally in the first match of the April 12 home double dual. In the nightcap, Conley/Carrell dug deep for a 20-22, 21-18, 15-4 comeback victory over the same pair.

UT Martin then took part in the Govs Beach Bash in Clarksville, Tenn. last weekend and Conley/Carrell continued to shine. They took down Eastern Kentucky’s Sydney Schoen/Maddy Campbell (21-15, 21-10) and Jacksonville State’s Paulina Lindberg/Brooklyn Schiffli (21-18, 21-11) in short order on April 15 before gutting out another three-set triumph (13-21, 21-18, 15-8) over the Austin Peay team of Janvier Buggs/Caroline Waite. That victory extended Conley/Carrell’s winning streak out to seven matches.

Conley, a senior from London, Ohio, and Carrell, a junior out of Pensacola, Fla., will be back in action this weekend for the final regular season matches of the season. The Skyhawks return to Clarksville to take on OVC rivals Austin Peay, Morehead State, Eastern Illinois and Chattanooga on April 22-23.
