Bobby Ross McElroy

Bobby Ross McElroy,  86, of Puryear, Tenn., died Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at AHC of Paris.

He retired after several years from Midland Brake.  Bobby was also a longtime farmer who loved his cattle and a US Army veteran.  He enjoyed mowing his yard and gardening.  He was a member of Puryear Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.

Bobby was born Tuesday, September 3, 1935, in Henry County, Tenn., to the late Walter Morgan McElroy and the late Merle Ross McElroy.

He was married November 12, 1960, to Patricia Hunt “Pat” McElroy, who survives, of Puryear, Tenn.

Along with his wife, he is also survived by two sons: Kenneth R. (Melissa) McElroy of Puryear, Tenn., and John W. (Gracian) McElroy, of Puryear, Tenn.; one brother: Jerry (Lynette) McElroy, of Florida; three grandchildren: Jake (Katie) McElroy, Justin (Alyssa) McElroy, and Chloe McElroy; and one great grandchild: Landon McElroy.

Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street/PO Box 788, Paris, Tenn., 38242.  Visitation will be Friday, April 15, 2022, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home with Mike Rhodes and Dewayne Chadwick officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael McElroy, James Blankenship, Mitchell Evans, Jerry Stewart, Jake McElroy, and Justin McElroy.  Named as honorary pallbearers are the members of Puryear Baptist Church Men’s Class.

Burial will be in Walker Cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
