From Graves County Sheriff’s Office:
Re: Updated Information Concerning Sheltering Locations
A meeting amongst local emergency managers and first responders just concluded concerning this afternoons expected weather event.
Public sheltering locations being offered as we have been informed are as follows:
1. Mayfield Elementary School
2. Fancy Farm Elementary School
3. Sedalia Elementary School
4. Farmington Elementary School
5. Symsonia Elementary School
6. Wingo Elementary School
People are welcome after 3PM to arrive at these locations. All schools city and county will have released all students no later than 2PM today. Once our area is clear of the dangerous weather, each sheltering location will be notified and an announcement made.
Pets are allowed however they must be crated, No Exceptions. This is for everyone’s safety. National Guard, Graves County Deputy Jailers, and some law enforcement will be present at sheltering locations to monitor and or usher those arriving.
The best guess as to the most likely timing for the highest risk of dangerous weather is within a 2 hour window of 4PM to 6PM, but this COULD CHANGE.
There also will be NO MEALS served this evening at the Fairgrounds due to weather.
