Springville Man Found Guilty Of Aggravated Assault Of Resort Owner

Paris, Tenn.–A Springville man was found guilty of aggravated assault in the beating of a local resort store owner at a one-day trial in Henry County Circuit Court Monday. He was found not guilty of attempting to commit second degree murder.

Timothy Michael Crabtree, age 36, will be sentenced June 1. He is in custody at the Henry Co. Jail awaiting sentencing.

Crabtree was charged with the August 2018 beating of the owner of Country Junction in Springville.

He was arrested by Henry County Deputy Sgt. Blake Jenkins. According to the original arrest report, Crabtree went to the Country Junction store after hours. He was met at the door by the owner who told him they were closed. Crabtree then forced his way in the store and began to beat the owner causing serious bodily injuries.

After the beating Crabtree walked over to the cooler and stole a 2 5 oz beer. When deputies arrived Crabtree was still on the scene.  The victim was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

At Monday’s trial, Crabtree was represented by Paris Attorney Bruce Griffey. The state was represented by District Attorney Matt Stowe and Assistant DA Courtney Morgan Crocker.
