Mrs. Neva Nell Hicks, 89, of Dover, Tenn., passed away April 9, 2022 at AHC of Clarksville, Tenn.
She was born Wednesday, August 3, 1932, Stewart County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Louie Elbert and Pearl Bogard Wallace. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend to many. She was a homemaker and enjoyed the company of her loving fur babies. She was a school bus driver for Stewart County School District until retirement. She was a member of Faith Chapel General Baptist Church in Mitchell, Ill., and faithfully attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Indian Mound, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Walton Hicks, of Dover, Tenn.,, son James (Jimmy) Hicks of Staunton, Ill., step-father Ewin Wallace, brother Malcolm Wallace (Charles Wallace) of Dover, Tenn., and sisters Laverne Plebanek, of Granite City, Ill., Dorothy Ann Hancock, of Woodlawn, Tenn.
She is survived by her loving and devoted son, Larry (Kathy) Hicks of Troy, Ill., three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great, great-grandchildren, all of Granite City, Ill.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Anglin Funeral Home 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Graveside service will be held at Heflin Cemetery at 1 p.m., April 14, 2022 with Bro. Joe Shannon officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
