McKenzie, Tenn.–The Bethel University Sports Management Students are on the road today–on the road to the Final Four.
The students will be working their first Men’s Final Four and National Championships. Bethel Director of Sports Management Josh Greer said the group is excited and thanked the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation for the opportunity.
Greer said the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation hosted the College Football National Championship two years ago “and did a fantastic job. We’ve been networking/working together every since that opportunity. We’ve been planning for this specific opportunity for over a year now and I can’t wait for our students to go out there to network and gain valuable experience in their field.”
Bethel is one of only 15 universities in the nation that has this opportunity “and that makes it even more special to me,” Greer said.
During the day, the students will be working at the Fan Festival. The students will be given specific areas to manage for the event, which is a free event for fans. They engage in basketball related activities, autograph sessions from famous athletes, listen to speakers, and be behind the scenes for live broadcasting for the event, he said.
“We will work behind the scenes for both game days, too with on location. We worked Gameday at the Super Bowl with them too. They are the premier sports hospitality organization in the world. (Our students will also work with them in Las Vegas for the NFL Draft at the end of April.) We are very thankful to be included in this elite group. For On Location, we typically help them with their VIP guest. We direct or manage these different groups/parties. These positions are very flexible and vary from pre- and post- event parties to celebrity meet/greet events,” Greer said.
