McKenzie Rebels Eliminated In First Round

McKenzie, Tenn.–McKenzie Rebel players Bryson Steele, Marquez Taylor, Zach McCaslin and assistant coach Hunter Herrin and head coach John Wilkins talk with the media following their loss in the first round of the state tournament.
 McKenzie Rebels faced a talented Peabody High School team Thursday afternoon in Murfreesboro and were eliminated from further play 63 to 48.  Poor shooting with 2 of 17 from three point range and 17 of 61 overall, the Rebels trailed by 2 at the end of the first, 8 at the half, 13 at three and 15 at the end 63-48.
Leading scorer for McKenzie was Marquez Taylor with 18. Bryson Steele ended with 10. Senior Zayden McCaslin had 7, Tate Surber 8, Stafford Roditis 3 and Zach Aird 2.
Earlier in the day, West Carroll lost 60-54 to Hampton in state quarterfinals. War Eagles finish 22-5 on the year
