Murfreesboro, Tenn.–The McKenzie Lady Rebels defeated North Greene Huskies in the first round of the TSSAA Class 1A State tournament in Murfreesboro. The Lady Rebels beat North Greene 58 – 44 and will face neighboring Gleason High School at 6 p.m. tomorrow afternoon in the semi-finals of the state tournament.
Dani Dyer started the game off with a driving layup and the Rebels never trailed. Briley Auvenshine led all players with 18 points. Dyer had 13, Savannah Davis 9, Kylie Reynolds’s 8, Mikaela Reynolds 6, Katie Chester 3 and Madison Gilbert 1.
Gleason defeated Clay County 55-39.
The Dresden Lady Lions defeated Van Buren County 50-33 to advance as well. They will play Wayne County at 4:30 and McKenzie Gleason will follow at 6 p.m.
