The Association of Collegiate Anglers has continued to monitor the pending weather event forecasted to impact Paris, TN and surrounding areas this Friday and through the weekend and has made the decision to postpone the Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Bash presented by Berkley. The ACA takes everyone’s safety seriously and in this case it’s not prudent to have the event as scheduled.

The Association of Collegiate Anglers is continuing to monitor the pending
weather event forecasted to impact Paris, TN and surrounding areas Friday
and through most of the weekend. Forecast projections continue to worsen,
as a majority of the Midwest, including Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and
Alabama, are all expected to be impacted by winter weather and below
freezing temperatures.
Updated forecast models are predicting 1-3 inches of snow not only at
Kentucky Lake, but for many of the aforementioned surrounding states in
that area. This snow will make for potentially hazardous travel to and from
the host site on Friday as well as at the lake over the weekend. Therefore,
the ACA has decided to postpone the event.
In addition to the snow forecasted on Friday, temperatures are now
projected to be below freezing for 36-40 hours over the weekend with wind
chills below 10 degrees on Saturday morning, meaning little to no melting is
expected on the roadways. The ACA takes everyone’s safety seriously and
in this case it’s not prudent to have the event as scheduled. Stay tuned for
future updates regarding this event.
