Paris, Tenn.–It’s been a great year for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction, which raised a grand total of $376,140 for over 80 non-profit and service organizations in the county.
That places this year’s Helping Hand Auction in second place all time, just some $3,000 shy of breaking the record of $379,163 in 2020.
And all that happened despite the obstacles posed by the COVID pandemic and this being a rebuilding year after an abbreviated version of the auction in 2021.
A total of 6,042 donated items were sold during the auction, which started January 10 and ended today. 415 people helped answer the phones and seven auctioneers presided over the auction.
Helping Hand President John Berryman said donations will continue to be accepted until Friday, March 11 “and then we’ll close the books and begin the process of awarding funds”.
Berryman thanked all the many volunteers and people who donated items for the auction this year and said, “We’ve had a really good year.”
A total $4,406 was raised today which was Open to Anyone Day, with other items donated by Phases to Freedom, A Place Called Home and Child Evangelism Fellowship. Auctioneers took turns at the mike today.
