Camden, Tenn.–A Camden home was destroyed in an early-morning blaze Saturday. Firefighters were able to get the residents to safety but most of their belongings were lost.
Camden Fire Chief Jeff Pierce said the department was dispatched to the residence on Flatwoods Ave. around midnight.
“After a quick entry and ventilation of the roof, we were able to knock down the flames and retrieve some personal items from the home and get the occupants to safety. Because of the construction of the home, it took several hours to extinguish all of the hot spots and return to the station,” he said.
“We want to thank the Dispatch, Police Department, Electric System, and Gas Company for there quick response to the scene and our Firemen that worked so hard in the 28 degree temperature to battle this blaze. Our prayers are with the occupants for the loss of their home.”
