Paris, Tenn.–A HUGE day for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction today.
With the $24,258 raised today, the grand total raised so far this year is now at $315,253.
The First United Methodist Church really came through, donating 290 items for a total of 29 slates. That includes the 70 items that were sold in a Silent Auction at the church. Lots of good stuff, including casseroles, baked goods, carved walking sticks, “Pride of Paris” products, plants, crocheted blankets and throws and much more.
Today marked a milestone for Auctioneer Jamie Orr, who achieved something of a “Triple Crown” by presiding over the auction when it reached $100,000, $200,000 and today, $300,000.
Orr will also be the auctioneer on Monday, when groups donating items will be the 4-H Clubs, No Fly Zone, Future Farmers of America, Eiffel Gardens, Young Farmers and Ranchers and Henry Co. Basketball Boosters.
The annual auction started on January 10 and will continue through March 2, raising funds for over 80 local non-profit and service organizations.
Photos of items that are donated each day are posted on the “Henry County Helping Hand” Facebook page. Anyone who wants to bid on any item can describe the item or give the number of the item as posted on the Facebook page.
The auction is broadcast daily over WTPR 101.7 FM and 710 AM at 12:30 p.m. and Saturday auctions begin at noon. You can also listen on our website at www.radionwtn.com, where it is live streamed.
Auction phone is 644-1695 and office phone is 644-1833. If you experience a problem with 644-1695 when you’re trying to bid, you can call 644-1696 or 644-1697.
