Union City, Tenn.–Less than 5 weeks on the job and K9 Sophia had her first successful tracking last night in hunting down Daniel Allen Butler, in Obion, TN.
K9 Sophia, pictured here with her handler, Sgt. Wright, was able to track the suspect after catching his scent from an article of clothing on the scene at which the suspect stabbed an Obion Police Officer in the face multiple times.
The track laid by Butler was approximately an hour old and a half mile long, but K9 Sophia was able to find him in 10 minutes time under a brush pile in a wooded area.
Daniel Allen Butler, 37, of Union City, TN, is currently being held without bond at the Obion County Correctional Facility where he was arraigned this morning in Obion County General Sessions Court on 1st Degree Attempted Murder and Evading Arrest Charges.
