Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Veterans’ Service Office is hosting a meeting for all World War II, Korean War and eligible Vietnam veterans who are interested in a free “Honor Flight” to Washington, D.C. to visit their War Memorials there.
Veterans Service Officer Jon Bolding said the meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, at the first floor Chancery Courtroom at the Henry County Courthouse. Applications will be available at the meeting, he said.
According to the flyer, World War II veterans will receive top priority, followed by Korean War veterns. Vietnam veterans who are at least 70 percent disabled due to exposure to Agent Orange or who are terminally ill will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Bolding said terminally ill veterans who are well enough to fly (with doctor’s approval) go to the front of the line.
